Since we’re vegan, I’ve recently been showing Ellie how to check toiletries, food and chemicals for animal testing (denoted by a bunny symbol).
Today I bought Ellie this oatmeal that was instant to try and I made it for breakfast. It was “Bob’s Red Mill Oatmeal” and all of their products have a picture of Bob on them. She sees it and says
Because it has a picture of a man on it, that means that we don’t eat people.
This summer, Ellie started school. She’s currently going three mornings a week and it’s been fantastic for her. She’s making friends, enjoying the independence and it’s making her much more confident and assertive.
The other day was the first time I got to take her to school and meet her teachers and classmates and I’m really happy with where she is. I’m very happy that we made the decision to have her go. Continue reading “Ellie’s first day at school”
On a recent trip to Target, Ellie apparently got tired of all the walking around, so she found herself a child-sized chair and sat down for a rest! Continue reading “Target is tiring!”
Her bike may not have pedals yet, but she’s certainly mastering getting around on it. Continue reading “Pro cyclist”
Recently, we came to learn that Home Depot runs a free monthly workshop for kids where they make something simple and different each month.
Locally, Home Depot just happens to be next door to Starbucks, so once a month, Ellie and I start off by having breakfast at Starbucks and then doing the class at Home Depot. Continue reading “Monthly daddy/daughter date at Starbucks and Home Depot”
Ellie’s moving on from drinking from “sippie cups” so we’re trying to find her smaller cups and glasses to work from.
While at Oma’s many weeks ago though, the only glass that Oma could seem to produce was a small disposable wine glass, so Ellie got to drink “white wine” (almond milk). Continue reading “Drinking white wine”
We’re currently in the process of applying for Jack’s British passport and as part of that process, I needed to take some photos of Jack.
I asked Ellie to help me out by sitting in position so that I could set up camera with a model with a little more patience and cooperation than a 1-year old. Continue reading “Photographer’s assistant”
This 4th of July, we took a trip to MA and NH to visit family, attend a christening and enjoy the summer in New England.
While there, Ellie got to know her second cousins Addison, Mason and Emmerson much better and enjoyed all sorts of outings and events, like the 4th of July parade, Santa’s Village and she even got to sit in the cockpit of the plane that took her to Boston! Continue reading “Ellie’s trip to NH and MA over 4th of July”
Many months ago, Mama mentioned to Ellie the possibility of her getting a bike for her birthday and since that day, she has professed to everyone that she “is getting a bike for her birthday”.
So we couldn’t really fail her. We celebrated her birthday a little early since we had family visiting, but her reaction when she got her bike was hysterical. She had this nervous laughter that she couldn’t quite believe she got a bike. She was a bit shaky at first, but within 24 hours she’s already zooming around. Continue reading “Ellie getting a bike for her birthday [VIDEO]”
Ellie is such a great big sister and always wants to help out with Jack. Her latest desire is to help feed Jack and she’s taken to it pretty well. We don’t usually have to clean up too much when she’s done. Continue reading “Being a great big sister by feeding Jack”
