Ellie’s moving on from drinking from “sippie cups” so we’re trying to find her smaller cups and glasses to work from.
While at Oma’s many weeks ago though, the only glass that Oma could seem to produce was a small disposable wine glass, so Ellie got to drink “white wine” (almond milk). Continue reading “Drinking white wine”
We’re currently in the process of applying for Jack’s British passport and as part of that process, I needed to take some photos of Jack.
I asked Ellie to help me out by sitting in position so that I could set up camera with a model with a little more patience and cooperation than a 1-year old. Continue reading “Photographer’s assistant”
This 4th of July, we took a trip to MA and NH to visit family, attend a christening and enjoy the summer in New England.
While there, Ellie got to know her second cousins Addison, Mason and Emmerson much better and enjoyed all sorts of outings and events, like the 4th of July parade, Santa’s Village and she even got to sit in the cockpit of the plane that took her to Boston! Continue reading “Ellie’s trip to NH and MA over 4th of July”
Many months ago, Mama mentioned to Ellie the possibility of her getting a bike for her birthday and since that day, she has professed to everyone that she “is getting a bike for her birthday”.
So we couldn’t really fail her. We celebrated her birthday a little early since we had family visiting, but her reaction when she got her bike was hysterical. She had this nervous laughter that she couldn’t quite believe she got a bike. She was a bit shaky at first, but within 24 hours she’s already zooming around. Continue reading “Ellie getting a bike for her birthday [VIDEO]”
Ellie is such a great big sister and always wants to help out with Jack. Her latest desire is to help feed Jack and she’s taken to it pretty well. We don’t usually have to clean up too much when she’s done. Continue reading “Being a great big sister by feeding Jack”
The weekend before last was Mother’s Day here in the States and we wanted to honour the woman who keeps this family running and does so with little thanks and little complaining.
Marti, you are incredible and we are blessed to have you in our lives. We (all) love you.

Ellie has always been a keen learner so it was no surprise to me when Oma told me that Ellie was starting to take on some more challenging puzzles.

Ellie has always been a big fan of building and creating, particularly with Duplos. The other day I came home to find a Duplo tower as tall as her! Continue reading “Duplo construction level 50”
Ellie hadn’t worn her tutu in a while, so we got it out for her and it made her come alive. Mama sang a silly song and Ellie was only too happy to dance along to it. Continue reading “Dancing in her tutu [VIDEO]”
We were messing around while eating dinner the other night when Ellie came out with a rather frightening promise about what she was going to do to us. This was after she previously talked about throwing us in the pool and letting Ollie (the pool vacuum) suck us up.
I’m going to throw you into my arms and eat you all up. I’m going to eat your nose, your lips, your eyebrows, your eyelashes, your mouth, your arms, your tattoos…
My eyebrows!? What kind of sadist eats someones eyebrows!? I laughed nervously when she did, but I sleep with one eye open now. They seem so innocent, but when it comes down to it…
